Here’s the easiest Southern peach cobbler recipe—super simple and delicious!
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup milk
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
• 1 (15 oz) can of sliced peaches in syrup (or 2 cups fresh peaches with 1/4 cup sugar)
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the oven until melted.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla (if using) until smooth.
3. Pour the batter over the melted butter (do not stir!).
4. Spoon the peaches (with syrup) evenly over the batter (do not stir!). The batter will rise around the peaches as it bakes.
5. Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.
6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
7. Let it cool slightly, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
