Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet

Got it! While Texas Roadhouse is famous for their Cinnamon Honey Butter (served with rolls) and their steaks, they don’t officially have a “Butter Chicken Skillet” on their menu.

BUT — if you’re thinking of a buttery, skillet-seared, Texas-style chicken (kind of like their flavors: buttery, garlicky, slightly smoky), I can definitely give you a recipe that fits that idea!

Here’s a Texas Roadhouse-Style Butter Chicken Skillet recipe:

Ingredients:

For the chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the butter sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken:
In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over the chicken pieces.
  2. Sear the chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for about 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp should reach 165°F / 74°C).
  3. Make the butter sauce:
In a small saucepan (or push chicken to the side of the skillet), melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, parsley, and lemon juice.
  4. Combine and simmer:
Spoon the butter sauce over the chicken. Let everything simmer together for 2–3 minutes so the chicken gets coated and the flavors blend.
  5. Serve:
Serve hot, spooning extra butter sauce over the top. Great with mashed potatoes, green beans, or a soft dinner roll (Texas Roadhouse style!).

Optional Add-ons for a “restaurant feel”:

  • Top with shredded Monterey Jack cheese right before serving
  • Sprinkle with crispy fried onions
  • Add sautéed mushrooms to the butter sauce

Would you also want a creamy skillet version — almost like a Texas Roadhouse-style chicken with a cream sauce? (I can send that too if you want!)
