Ingredients

  • For the brownies:
  • 1 box of brownie mix (or homemade brownies)
  • Ingredients needed for the brownie mix (eggs, oil, water)
  • For the mint filling:
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • For the whipped cream topping:
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For garnish:
  • Green sprinkles, shamrock candies, or chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownies:
  • Bake the brownies according to the package instructions or your favorite recipe. Let them cool completely, then cut them into small cubes.
  1. Make the mint filling:
  • In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, peppermint extract, and a few drops of green food coloring (if using). Mix until well combined.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated.
  1. Make the whipped cream topping:
  • In a bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  1. Assemble the trifle:
  • In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer the ingredients as follows:
    1. A layer of brownie cubes.
    2. A layer of mint filling.
    3. A layer of whipped cream.
  • Repeat the layers until the dish is full, ending with whipped cream on top.
  1. Garnish:
  • Sprinkle green sprinkles, add shamrock candies, or top with chocolate shavings for a festive touch.
  1. Chill and serve:
  • Refrigerate the trifle for at least 1-2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
