Slow Cooker Church Supper Spaghetti 🍝
Ingredients:
• 1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)
• 1 small onion, diced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
• 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
• 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
• 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
• 1 tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
• ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
• 1 tbsp sugar (balances acidity)
• 1 cup water or beef broth
• 1 lb spaghetti (broken in half)
• ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
• Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
1. Brown the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease. Add onions and garlic, sauté for 2-3 minutes.
2. Slow Cook the Sauce: Transfer the meat mixture to a slow cooker. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, sugar, and water/broth. Stir well.
3. Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
4. Add Spaghetti: In the last 30 minutes, stir in the dry spaghetti, making sure it’s submerged in the sauce. Cover and cook until tender.
5. Serve & Enjoy: Stir in Parmesan cheese, garnish with fresh basil, and serve hot!
