For the Filling:
• ½ lb ribeye steak or deli roast beef, thinly sliced
• 1 tablespoon butter
• ½ cup onion, finely chopped
• ½ cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
• ½ cup mushrooms, finely chopped (optional)
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• Salt & pepper to taste
For the Breadsticks:
• 1 (13.8 oz) can refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade)
• 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cook the filling: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms, cooking until soft. Add steak, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until steak is browned. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. Prepare the dough: Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
4. Assemble the breadsticks:
• Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and provolone over one half of the dough.
• Spread the steak mixture evenly over the cheese.
• Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
• Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press edges to seal.
5. Brush & season: Brush the top with melted butter, then sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
6. Slice before baking: Use a pizza cutter to cut into strips, but don’t separate them.
7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
8. Serve: Let cool slightly, then separate into breadsticks. Serve with warm cheese sauce or marinara for dipping.
