Minced Chicken Cutlets

Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these minced chicken cutlets are a versatile and flavorful dish. Serve them as an appetizer, snack, or even as a protein-packed main course!


Ingredients

For the chicken mixture:

  • 1 pound minced chicken (ground chicken)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 egg

For coating:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)

For frying:

  • Vegetable oil, for shallow frying

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the chicken mixture:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine minced chicken, onion, garlic, cilantro or parsley, cumin, paprika, chili flakes, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg.
  • Mix well until evenly combined. Cover and let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes to firm up.

2️⃣ Shape the cutlets:

  • Take a small portion of the mixture (about 2 tablespoons) and shape it into a flat, oval cutlet. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

3️⃣ Coat the cutlets:

  • Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs.
  • Dip each cutlet into the flour, then the beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

4️⃣ Fry the cutlets:

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, shallow fry the cutlets in batches for 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  • Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.

5️⃣ Serve:

  • Serve hot with a side of ketchup, mayonnaise, or a yogurt-based dip. Pair with a salad or rice for a complete meal.

Tips

  • Add grated cheese to the chicken mixture for an extra cheesy twist.
  • Bake the cutlets at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes for a healthier option.
  • Use ground turkey or beef as an alternative to chicken.
