Italian Crescent  Casserole

Here’s a delicious and easy Italian Crescent Casserole recipe—perfect for a quick and cheesy dinner!

Ingredients

• 1 lb ground beef

• 1/2 cup diced onion

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 tsp Italian seasoning

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1/2 tsp black pepper

• 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

• 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

• 1 tube (8 oz) crescent roll dough

• 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

• 1 tbsp butter, melted

• 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for brushing the crust)

• 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.

3. Add seasonings: Stir in diced onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

4. Add tomatoes & sauce: Mix in diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

5. Prepare the crust: Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, slightly stretching it to fit.

6. Assemble the casserole: Spread the beef mixture over the crescent roll crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

7. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.

8. Brush & garnish: Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over the crust. Sprinkle with parsley or basil.

9. Serve & enjoy!

• Use ground sausage instead of beef for a richer flavor.

• Add pepperoni slices for a pizza-style twist.

• Swap crescent dough for refrigerated biscuit dough for a different texture.
