Herb-Crusted Pork Chops with Garlic Butter Sauce

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup (100g) seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs (e.g., oregano, thyme, basil)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Pork Chops:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes:
    • Dish 1: Flour
    • Dish 2: Beaten eggs
    • Dish 3: Breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, Italian herbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each pork chop in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally press into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring even coverage.

Cook the Pork Chops:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Sear the pork chops for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10–15 minutes or until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove and let rest while preparing the sauce.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Stir in the chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet.
  3. Let the sauce simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in parsley and lemon juice (if using) and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve:

  1. Plate the pork chops and drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the top.
  2. Garnish with additional parsley and serve with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad.

This recipe offers a perfect balance of crispy crust, juicy pork, and velvety sauce. Enjoy! 🥩🧈
