Creamy Potato Gratin Recipe

Ingredients:

• 4 large potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), thinly sliced

• 1 cup milk

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 cup shredded Gruyère or cheddar cheese (or a mix)

• ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

• 1 tsp salt

• ½ tsp black pepper

• ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat & Prep:

• Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

• Grease a baking dish with butter.

2. Prepare the Creamy Mixture:

• In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over medium heat until warm (do not boil).

3. Assemble the Gratin:

• Arrange half of the potato slices in the baking dish.

• Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.

• Sprinkle with half of the Gruyère/cheddar.

• Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.

• Top with Parmesan cheese.

4. Bake:

• Remove the foil and bake for another 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
