Cheesy Sausage Muffins Recipe

Ingredients:

• 250g breakfast sausage (or ground sausage)

• 1 cup all-purpose flour

• 1 tsp baking powder

• ½ tsp salt

• ½ tsp black pepper

• ½ tsp garlic powder

• ½ tsp onion powder

• ½ cup milk

• 2 eggs

• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)

• 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

• Set your oven to 180°C (350°F).

• Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.

2. Cook the Sausage:

• In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked.

• Drain any excess grease and set aside.

3. Prepare the Batter:

• In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

• In a separate bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and melted butter.

• Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

4. Assemble the Muffins:

• Fold in the cooked sausage and 1 cup of shredded cheese into the batter.

• Spoon the batter evenly into the muffin cups, filling about ¾ full.

• Sprinkle extra cheese on top.

5. Bake the Muffins:

• Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. Cool & Serve:

• Let the muffins cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.

• Serve warm and enjoy!

Optional Variations:

• Add diced bell peppers or jalapeños for extra flavor.

• Swap cheddar for mozzarella or pepper jack cheese.

• Use turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for a lighter option.
