Biscuits & Gravy Hashbrown Casserole
This hearty and comforting breakfast casserole combines crispy hashbrowns, fluffy biscuits, creamy sausage gravy, and melted cheese—perfect for a crowd!
Ingredients:
For the Casserole:
• 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits (Grands or similar)
• 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
• 2 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed
• 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 6 large eggs
• ½ cup milk
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
For the Sausage Gravy:
• ¼ cup unsalted butter
• ¼ cup all-purpose flour
• 2 cups milk
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
• ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven & Prepare Biscuits:
• Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
• Cut each biscuit into quarters and spread them evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Cook the Sausage & Make Gravy:
• In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove half of the sausage and set aside for the casserole.
• Leave the remaining sausage in the skillet and add butter. Stir until melted.
• Sprinkle in the flour and stir for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
• Slowly whisk in milk, cooking until thickened (about 5 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat.
3. Assemble the Casserole:
• Sprinkle hashbrowns over the biscuit pieces.
• Spread the reserved sausage evenly over the hashbrowns.
• Pour the prepared sausage gravy over the top.
• Sprinkle shredded cheese over everything.
4. Prepare Egg Mixture & Bake:
• In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over the casserole.
• Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until eggs are set and biscuits are golden brown.
5. Serve & Enjoy:
• Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
