Big Apple Fritters Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Fritters:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• ¼ cup granulated sugar
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
• 2 large eggs
• ½ cup whole milk
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
• 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
• Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Glaze:
• 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
• 2-3 tablespoons milk
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Batter:
• In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
• In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter until combined.
• Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until mixed.
• Fold in the diced apples. The batter will be thick.
2. Heat the Oil:
• In a large, deep pot or Dutch oven, heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
