Big  Apple Fritters

Here’s a Big Apple Fritters recipe—crispy, golden brown on the outside, soft and packed with juicy apples on the inside. These are perfect for a sweet treat!

Big Apple Fritters Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Fritters:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• ¼ cup granulated sugar

• 2 teaspoons baking powder

• ½ teaspoon salt

• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

• ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

• 2 large eggs

• ½ cup whole milk

• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

• 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)

• Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Glaze:

• 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

• 2-3 tablespoons milk

• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Batter:

• In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

• In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter until combined.

• Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until mixed.

• Fold in the diced apples. The batter will be thick.

2. Heat the Oil:

• In a large, deep pot or Dutch oven, heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

• Use a thermometer to maintain the temperature.

3. Fry the Fritters:

• Scoop ¼ cup portions of batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.

• Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.

• Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

4. Make the Glaze:

• In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

5. Glaze & Serve:

• While still warm, dip or drizzle the fritters with the glaze.

• Let set for a few minutes, then enjoy!

Tips & Variations:

• Crispier Fritters: Fry in small batches to keep the oil hot.

• More Apple Flavor: Add ½ teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the batter.

• No Glaze? Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar instead!
