Ingredients:
• 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
• 250g minced meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
• ½ tsp paprika (optional)
• ½ tsp cumin (optional)
• ¼ tsp chili flakes (optional)
• 2 tbsp tomato paste (or 1 small diced tomato)
• 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
• 100g cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or feta), shredded
• 1 egg yolk, beaten (for brushing)
• 1 tbsp sesame seeds or nigella seeds (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the filling:
• Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
• Sauté the onion until soft, then add garlic.
• Add minced meat and cook until browned.
• Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili flakes.
• Add tomato paste and cook for 2 more minutes.
• Remove from heat and mix in fresh parsley. Let it cool.
2. Assemble the pastry:
• Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
• Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface.
• Cut into squares or rectangles.
• Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each piece.
• Sprinkle with cheese.
• Fold over into a triangle or rectangle and seal the edges with a fork.
3. Bake:
• Brush the top with beaten egg yolk.
• Sprinkle sesame or nigella seeds.
• Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Serve warm with yogurt sauce, salad, or soup.
