Ingredients:
• 500g (1 lb) ground beef
• 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into small chunks
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 can (400g) condensed cream of mushroom soup (or cream of cheddar soup)
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
• 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella blend)
• 1 tablespoon butter or oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Cook the Ground Beef:
• Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter/oil.
• Sauté the chopped onion and garlic until soft.
• Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
• Drain any excess grease.
3. Prepare the Potatoes:
• Boil the potato chunks for about 5–7 minutes until slightly tender but not fully cooked.
• Drain and set aside.
4. Mix the Sauce:
• In a bowl, mix the condensed soup and milk.
5. Assemble the Casserole:
• In a greased baking dish, spread half of the potatoes.
• Layer half of the cooked beef mixture over them.
• Pour half of the soup mixture on top.
• Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
6. Add Cheese & Bake:
• Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top.
• Bake uncovered for about 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Serve & Enjoy:
• Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
