Tennessee Onions

Here’s a simple and delicious Tennessee Onions recipe!

Ingredients:

• 3–4 large sweet onions (Vidalia or any sweet variety)

• ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

• 1 teaspoon salt

• ½ teaspoon black pepper

• ½ teaspoon garlic powder

• ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

• ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

• ½ cup crushed Ritz crackers (or breadcrumbs)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

• Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

• Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Prepare the Onions:

• Peel and slice the onions into ¼-inch thick rings.

• Separate the rings and spread them evenly in the baking dish.

3. Season and Add Butter:

• Pour the melted butter evenly over the onions.

• Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika for flavor.

4. Add Cheese:

• Sprinkle the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese evenly over the onions.

5. Top with Crunch:

• Sprinkle the crushed Ritz crackers on top for a crispy finish.

6. Bake:

• Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

• Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

7. Serve:

• Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as a side dish with grilled meats or BBQ!
