Here’s a delicious Savory Potato and Sausage Casserole with a creamy sour cream sauce—perfect for a comforting meal!

Ingredients:

• 1 lb (450g) smoked sausage or breakfast sausage, sliced

• 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

• 1 small onion, chopped

• 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

• 1 cup sour cream

• ½ cup milk

• 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup

• ½ teaspoon garlic powder

• ½ teaspoon onion powder

• ½ teaspoon salt

• ¼ teaspoon black pepper

• ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

• 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Set to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.

2. Cook Sausage & Onion: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage and onion until browned. Drain any excess grease.

3. Make Sauce: In a bowl, mix sour cream, milk, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

4. Assemble Layers:

• Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.

• Add half of the sausage mixture.

• Pour half of the sour cream sauce over it.

• Repeat layers.

5. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

6. Add Cheese: Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar cheese, and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
