Cracker Barrel Meatloaf Recipe: A Comforting Classic

Here’s a Cracker Barrel-style meatloaf recipe that’s tender, flavorful, and easy to make!

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ lbs (680g) ground beef (preferably 80/20)

• 1 cup (100g) crushed Ritz crackers (or breadcrumbs)

• ½ cup (120ml) milk

• 2 large eggs

• ½ cup (80g) finely chopped onion

• ½ cup (80g) finely chopped green bell pepper (optional)

• 1 cup (115g) shredded cheddar cheese

• 1 teaspoon salt

• ½ teaspoon black pepper

• ½ teaspoon garlic powder

• ½ teaspoon dried oregano

For the Glaze:

• ½ cup (120ml) ketchup

• 2 tablespoons brown sugar

• 1 teaspoon yellow mustard

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Meat Mixture

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, milk, eggs, onion, bell pepper, shredded cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Mix gently until well combined—don’t overmix!

Step 2: Shape and Bake

3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan.

4. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Prepare the Glaze

5. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.

6. After 30 minutes of baking, spread the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.

Step 4: Finish Baking

7. Return to the oven and bake for another 30–40 minutes, until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
